30,000 cubic feet of UltimaX Bean, 35 feet x 18 feet tall
The New Worlds Largest beanbag!

About the Worlds Largest Beanbag.
The hand-painted and screen printed image on the fabric was conceived and designed by the WMCAT students and depicts a representation of the city of Grand Rapids. Buildings reminiscent of the skyline are rendered on half of the beanbag, and various trees are seen on the other half, with a river separating the two. The trees were deliberately created as large as the buildings to show that nature is just as important as technology to our civilization, and that our society needs a balance of both.

WMCAT is opening eyes to learning in the heart of Grand Rapids by helping urban teens in
our community realize their true potential by offering engaging classes after-school in art and technology. Students express themselves, build self-esteem, and are a part of meaningful activities in an environment that inspires. Students have the opportunity to take classes such as screen printing, photography, fiber arts, drawing and painting, digital video and skateboard design. Engagement in the creative process is the conduit through which our students develop 21st Century skills, knowledge and attitudes that support their desire and abilities to learn in the present.
